  1. Hi CathyI I don’t blog, but I’m always fascinated by yours. I was named for my maternal grandmother Lucy Margaret RODES. The only other Lucy I’ve discovered is gr-gr-aunt Lucy M. HUDDLESTON, in my paternal grandmother’s family.
There are, however, a rich vein of unique women’s names in my family; can’t resist the opportunity to share a few (some of which you’ll know, of course):

mother, Hermit Ollie WEST (yes, that’s “Hermit,” like the crab–not “Kermit,” like the frog)
    aunt, Drusella Audrey WEST
    aunt, Vivian Ivorine WEST
    great-grandmother, Electa Ann JOHNSON
    great-grandmother, Ruphinia HUDDLESTON
    great-aunt, Maxie Leon PEGRAM
great aunt, Prussia (pron. “Pru-sha) Ann RODES
    great-great-aunt, Peonina HUDDLESTON
    great-great-aunt, Edmonia HUDDLESTON
    great-great-aunt, Parthenia PEGRAM
    great-great-grandmother, Wilicia HARRISON
    great-great-great aunt, Madora PERKINS

Thanks for the excuse to avoid housework on a snow-closure day . . . Lucy
