Last February I saw a short news report on Luxembourgish television on bloggers in Luxembourg. I’d only been blogging a year and didn’t know there was such a large community of bloggers in Luxembourg.
Blogger_LU is an active group for bloggers in/from Luxembourg. They organize regular blogger meetings and promote the blogging scene in Luxembourg. The name of the group came from bloggers who show their shared identity by using the hashtag #blogger_LU on their social media accounts.
I’ve been a member of the group for seven months but have felt a bit like an outsider since, at first glance, it looks like most of the bloggers in the group have fashion blogs.
Carmen Baustert of Clothes and Camera is the driving force behind the group of (at last count) 164 bloggers blogging about very different topics.
The monthly blogger meetings have been attracting only a small number of people. Since bloggers who blog about topics other than fashion tend to stay in the background Carmen came up with the idea of presenting the blogs in 12 categories over a period of 12 months. The categories being: Beaux Arts, Fashion, Lifestyle & Thoughts, Luxembourg, Technology, Beauty, Food, Parenting & Relationships, Travel, Wellbeing , DIY, and Society & History. A draw was held for the monthly order of the categories and Society & History was chosen for October, the first month for the project.
The Blogger_LU Facebook fanpage will be posting links of all posts of the five bloggers participating in the Society & History category during the month of October. Each blog will also be introduced on one of the five Saturdays in October.
I’m looking forward to Society & History month at Blogger_LU and Family History Month. I hope everyone finds something interesting here this month. And maybe I’ll finally reach the 600 likes mark on my Facebook page.
